Gavin King's Blog
Gavin King is a journalist and opinion columnist who started his writing career with music, art and culture street press publications in Sydney, becoming editor of the 40,000+ weekly circulation street press newspaper Revolver at the age 20.
In the hunt for new experiences, he headed to the red dirt desert of Central Australia to work at the remote Aboriginal community Papunya, 300kms north west of Alice Springs.
In 2003 he began his mainstream newspaper career with News Limited paper The Centralian Advocate as its political reporter. In 2006, he joined sister publication The Cairns Post as business editor and was later appointed chief of staff.
His opinion column in The Weekend Post was loved and loathed in equal measure, and he has recently joined The Sunday Mail as its North Queensland correspondent, based in Cairns.
