Kier Shorey
Kier Shorey presents the Breakfast Show on ABC Far North each weekday from 5am.
He also presents the Daddy Show to his daughters, Harper and Ava, daily from midday until 8pm, and intermittently hosts the Husband Show with darling wife Danielle from 8pm until not-too-late. Kier was born and raised in Cairns but left to pursue an acting career, culminating in what The Courier Mail described as Brisbane’s Worst Play of 1990.
He had better success as a screenwriter, with credits such as Neighbours, Pirate Islands and Crash Palace to his name. Kier also wrote and produced the short film Stop which screened in competition at Cannes, and co-wrote the feature film Blurred which earned him an AFI Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
He returned to Cairns for a holiday in 2003 and has been here ever since, even though he considers the summers akin to living in the devil’s underpants.
